Principal Report
The past two days have been filled with non-stop action as we held our P-2 and 3-6 Athletics Carnivals. A special thanks to Mr. Warren Iles for his excellent organisation of these events. The carnivals are a highlight in our school calendar, and it was fantastic to see so many family members, friends, and community members cheering on our students. I would also like to take this opportunity to thank the students for their outstanding display of sportsmanship and camaraderie, as well as the staff for their hard work and dedication. A special thanks to IPSA for hosting the sausage sizzle today—it was a great success! House Points are yet to be tallied, but students will be notified of the results at school very soon.
This term is a busy one, and every day counts. Please note that our Duty of Care begins at 8:30 am, with learning starting at 9:00 am. The school day finishes at 3:00 pm. We have noticed a significant increase in the number of students arriving late or leaving early this semester. Please consider the impact this has on your child—just ten minutes a day adds up over a week, month, and term, and significantly reduces quality learning time.
Save the date!
We are currently preparing for the annual IPSA Fundraising Event—our Spring Fair, which will be held on Friday November 8th. If you are interested in helping with the planning or volunteering at the event, we would love to hear from you. Alternatively, if you or your business would like to make a donation to support our fundraiser, we would greatly appreciate any contributions. Please bring them into the office or email me at kristy.hay@decyp.tas.gov.au.
We look forward to a successful evening supporting our fundraising efforts to resurface the courts.
Warm regards,
Kristy Hay

4/5AJ News
Late Term 3, 4/5AJ used recycled materials to create ‘Runny Racetracks’.
The students tested liquid viscosity as part of a chemistry unit by racing oil, vinegar and dishwashing liquid down their tracks.
The tracks and results were then shared in assembly.

Tasmanian Maths Relay
On Sunday, 22nd September eight of our Grade 5-6 students competed in the Tasmanian Maths Relay at Rosny College.
Our two teams performed very well against over 30 other school teams, answering a range of complex questions in a 45-minute period.
As well as giving up a Sunday morning to take part, the commitment our students showed in spending their lunchtimes to prepare for the event was fantastic.
Well done to Benny, Liam, Daniel, Henry, Leo, Kenzie, Noah, Ben and our reserve, Cooper.
A special thank you to Jarrod Coad for helping with the marking!
